We are currently seeking a Stock Controller with relevant industry experience to join our team. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain, maintaining accurate stock levels, and optimising our inventory processes.

£70,000 per annum

About the role:

  • Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for whisky, rum, bourbon casks, wine and spirit bottles, and all related dry goods (bottles, boxes, packaging, etc.).
  • Track stock levels across multiple warehouse locations, ensuring optimal quantity and quality of all inventory items.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to verify stock accuracy.

Key responsibilities:

Systems & Software Utilisation

  • Efficiently use Xero, Unleashed, and WineHub to track and manage inventory data.
  • Generate and analyse reports using Microsoft Excel to monitor stock movements, reconcile variances, and forecast future needs.
  • Process Improvement
  • Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures that support operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify discrepancies or inefficiencies in stock control processes and propose corrective actions.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the CFO to provide regular updates on inventory status, valuation, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams and other departments (e.g., sales, procurement, operations) to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
  • Communicate effectively with external vendors and service providers to streamline stock deliveries and returns.

Compliance & Quality Control

  • Adhere to all relevant industry regulations and standards regarding the storage and handling of wines, spirits, and associated packaging materials.
  • Ensure that stock handling procedures maintain product quality and integrity.

Skills & Experiance

  • Relevant Industry Experience: Prior experience in a similar role within the wine, spirits, or related beverage industry is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced user of Xero, Unleashed, WineHub, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Inventory Management Skills: Strong understanding of inventory control best practices and the ability to implement process improvements.
  • Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated capability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Attention to Detail: Proven track record of maintaining accurate records and identifying discrepancies quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal team coordination and external partner relations.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
